Legae has been providing employment opportunities to Black individuals since inception, however in 2012 we structured and formalised a skills development programme which we refer to as LEGAE ST² (skills, transformation, talent). LEGAE ST² is a solution designed to take responsibility in improving the quantity and quality of BEE skill in the stockbroking industry whilst at the same time allowing Legae to achieve mainstream status as a fully-fledged broking house. It is designed to facilitate skills transfer through active mentorship to university graduates from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Through the ongoing support from our clients, Legae commits to effectively source previously disadvantaged talent, build black experience and expertise and graduate BEE talent. Talent graduating from the programme will be made available to Legae’s clients for employment or will be employed internally to enhance Legae’s capability.
Legae ST² is an annual process, whereby two new candidates will enter the programme every year. The duration of the programme is 24 months, and the candidates will receive both practical hands on training and experience as well as formal training in research, institutional trading, private clients and settlements.
